My Right Foot

Well I did the deed and went to the podiatrist surgeon in First Hill the other day. We actually spent over an hour talking all about my aching dogs.

Actually, just the right one. For him to do the bunion surgery on both at the same time would involve a one month stay in a rest home complete with incapacitating pain and a wheel chair that I would spend 4 solid weeks in. FORGET THAT! We're doing my right foot. It's not the most deformed one but it is the most painful ... something about "grooves" in the lower metatarsal and the blah, blah secondary dorsal nerve... Anyhow, assuming FedExKinko's (as they're now gleefully calling themselves) approves the measely temp disability, I will be medicated, bored, broke and on my back the entire month of June.

At least I've got a DVD player and friends who have reluctantly agreed to drop food and movies off once in a while. I just keep thinkin', now's the time to get crackin' on the re-write of my first novel which has been languishing for year+ on my Iomega Zip disks. Speaking of computers, mine's still down, dead in the water till I haul it's plastic ass to a repair shop tomorrow. I don't know if it was the Sasser worm, MSBlast or the Complete Asshole Virus, but it's done a lovely number on my machine. The good news: I got all informed via Computer Source a freebie publication and am off to see a free firewall download site right now, damnit.
